All content on this site is published for general educational and research purposes. It is not investment advice, financial advice, trading advice, tax advice or legal advice, and it is not a research recommendation as that term is used in financial regulation.

3. Risk warning

Trading and investing carry a substantial risk of loss and are not suitable for everyone.

You can lose some or all of the capital you commit.
Derivatives — including options, futures, contracts for difference and leveraged products — are high risk. Losses on some instruments can exceed the amount deposited.
Options frequently expire worthless. A buyer can lose one hundred per cent of the premium paid.
Leverage magnifies losses as readily as gains.
The majority of short-term retail traders lose money over time. Independent regulatory disclosures across multiple jurisdictions report loss rates for retail derivative accounts well above half.
Markets can gap, halt or become illiquid. Stop orders do not guarantee an exit price.

Only commit capital you can afford to lose entirely, and obtain advice from an appropriately licensed and regulated professional in your jurisdiction before doing so.

4. Illustrative data

Every price, ticker, quote, chart, order book, premium and numerical figure appearing in the published guides is generated sample data created for illustration. None refers to a real instrument, a real quote or a real historical series, and each figure carries a note saying so. The interactive calculators compute simple arithmetic from values you enter; they are teaching devices, not pricing models, and they exclude commissions, taxes, financing, early exercise, assignment risk and every other real-world cost unless explicitly stated.

5. No performance claims

No representation is made that any method, technique, tool or idea discussed on this site will be profitable, will avoid losses, or is suitable for any particular person. No past, present, simulated or hypothetical performance figures are advertised. Where research results are published, they describe measurements on data, not returns available to a reader. Past performance is never indicative of future results, and hypothetical or simulated results carry well-documented biases including the benefit of hindsight.

6. Regulatory status

EdgeQuant Trading is not registered or licensed as an investment adviser, research analyst, portfolio manager, broker, dealer or financial intermediary in any jurisdiction, and does not hold itself out as any of these. EdgeQuant Trading does not:

provide personalised investment advice or recommendations;
accept, hold, pool or manage client money or securities;
place, route or execute orders for any third party;
provide trading signals, alerts, tips or calls;
sell, license, lease, distribute or otherwise make available any automated trading system, algorithm or execution tool for a third party to trade with.

Analytical software described on this site is used internally for research. It is not a product and is not offered to the public.

7. Your responsibility

You are solely responsible for your own decisions and for any consequence of them. You are responsible for complying with the laws, regulations and tax rules of your own jurisdiction, including any restrictions on the instruments discussed here. Availability of this site in your country is not a representation that anything described in it is lawful or appropriate there.

8. Accuracy and availability

Content is published in good faith and reviewed for accuracy, but is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including as to accuracy, completeness, merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Market structure, regulation and market practice change; material may become outdated without notice. Errors are corrected in place with a dated note, and reports of errors are welcome via the contact page.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, EdgeQuant Trading and its author accept no liability for any loss or damage — direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or otherwise, including any trading or investment loss — arising from use of, or reliance on, anything published on this site or on any site linked from it.

10. Third-party links

Links to external sites are provided for reference only. EdgeQuant Trading does not control, endorse or accept responsibility for their content, accuracy or practices. No affiliate, referral or revenue-sharing arrangement exists with any broker, exchange, platform or data vendor, and no payment is accepted for coverage or placement. Should that ever change, it will be disclosed on the page concerned.

11. Privacy

This site is static and runs no analytics, advertising or third-party tracking scripts, and sets no cookies of its own. Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which necessarily receives your IP address and user-agent as part of that request. The contact form does not submit data to this site; it composes a message in your own email client, and any information you then choose to send travels by ordinary email. Please do not send confidential financial information, credentials or account details by email.

12. Intellectual property

Text, figures, code and design on this site are the property of EdgeQuant Trading unless otherwise stated. You are welcome to quote from it with attribution and a link. Wholesale reproduction, or republication as your own work, is not permitted.

13. No relationship created

Reading this site, using its calculators or corresponding with EdgeQuant Trading does not create an adviser–client, fiduciary or professional relationship of any kind.
